Private Property – Gloucestershire

Onyx Basement Services were appointed to undertake waterproofing works for an exciting new-build extension in Gloucestershire. This bespoke high-end property featured a unique underground tunnel connecting the main house to a luxury wine cellar, as well as a custom sunken cinema and a personal leisure complex comprising a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and games room.

Our waterproofing design employed a multi-layered approach to ensure robust protection. Internally, a Type A Koster NB1 crystalline slurry was applied to the walls, floor, and soffit. A Type C cavity drainage system was also installed, complete with a bespoke packaged pump station to manage groundwater. Externally, we specified a pre-applied Delta DualProof membrane to the slab and a liquid-applied Koster Deuxan 2C system to the walls and deck, protected by a Delta Terraxx drainage and protection layer.

In addition to waterproofing, the site was identified as a high-risk area for radon gas. Our design therefore incorporated measures to ensure the property remains safe and compliant, protecting both the structure and its occupants.
