Onyx Basement Services were appointed to deliver specialist waterproofing solutions for an impressive new-build extension in Berkhamsted. This high-end, bespoke property boasts numerous standout features—most notably, a striking side-profile swimming pool window visible from the basement. The luxury leisure complex also includes a private swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and a custom-built sunken cinema.
Our waterproofing design combined multiple systems to ensure comprehensive protection. Internally, a Type A Koster NB1 crystalline slurry was applied to the walls, floor, and soffit. This was paired with a Type C cavity drainage system, including a packaged pump system designed to manage both groundwater and foul water. Externally, we specified a Type A Deuxan 2C waterproofing system, protected by a Delta Terraxx drainage and protection layer across the deck area.
